To understand our extensive capabilities at DFF, it’s necessary to understand the meaning behind our name: Defect Free Flow. For each and every project we undertake, we strive to manufacture or assemble a product that’s as close to perfect as it can possibly be. We are proud to say that both our precision manufacturing capabilities and quality assurance procedures are second to none, as exemplified by our ISO-9001 certification. In this blog, we explain exactly what the certification means for us and for our customers.
The Seven Quality Management Principles
The ISO quality management standard is based on seven principles that we’re proud to demonstrate each and every day. Our certification lets our customers know that they will always receive the most consistent and high-quality services, based on:
1) Customer focus
When working with us, you’ll quickly discover that we do more than take orders. We’ll thoughtfully evaluate the parts you want us to manufacture, offering insight and suggestions to refine your production process in order to save you time and money. It’s all about helping you achieve results.
From the top-down, our team is comprised of talented individuals with decades of experience in bringing clients’ manufacturing ideas to life. This leadership has led to our unwavering commitment to always improve the services we provide.
3) Engagement of people
Even during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, our business continued to grow, mainly due to our ability to understand the value of and engage all members of our team. We added an additional 165 employees in 2021 for a grand total of 255 employees throughout DFF—with no plans of slowing down.
4) Process approach
As part of our process approach, we’ll always work with you to simplify designs, make your product easier to produce and maximize the reliability and quality of the overall product. To improve this practice, our team recently invested in a digital GEMBA board to measure our development at both strategic and tactical levels by tracking order progress and our ability to consistently hit both quality and delivery targets.
Our team and our facility are both constantly growing and improving. With a recent construction project, we added two buildings and increased our total square footage to 300,000. This new area paved the way for us to add 30 large CNC machines to our existing fleet.
6) Evidence-based decision making
Nothing at DFF is done without the numbers to back it up—our Visual Factory shows us the status of our workplace in real-time. This tool has been proven invaluable as an indicator of key factory metrics involving safety, quality, delivery, cost and inventory, helping to streamline our efficiencies and forecast our projects.
7) Relationship management
We’re all about improving the processes for the customer, not simply completing a job. Our design assist services can help simplify your production and save you money. With a highly skilled staff and access to engineering software and high-tech machines, it’s likely that we can solve any problem you bring us. The relationships we build with customers are critical to our success and will continue to motivate our team moving forward.
